    1. I was looking at a portable propane heater at Tractor Supply. Its a Mr Heater 30000-80000 BTU's for $99.99. Anyone have one ? Any problems? Is it safe is the big question? They work very well, ime.

      They have a "turn over" switch that shuts them off too.

      I have had to clean some of mine even after one season which isnt that time consuming. Just take apart plastic cover, and swab out venturi with a q tip and isopropyl alcohol.

      They can be hard to start if not clean.

      I use them in my commercial mfg box blinds for hunting which have carpet, windows, chairs and a door.

      I added gas tanks the next size up from standard grill size, you can buy from Northern too, and bought the hose extension kits for three of my stands and dont use the small green propane bottles for those heaters. I hung them inside the stands in a corner facing the chairs.

      I have two of the smaller Lil Buddy heaters that use the smaller bottles and have a round head.....easy to carry in a pack.

      They do the job....but not sure how they would do in a drafty, larger space with door opening and shutting.

      You might be better with a higher end commercial grade unit for your garage with a fan /blower.
